God I Look To You

Ruth 1 v11:17

Our hope is in You, Lord God of Israel. In what You have achieved at the Cross. In what You have ordained, set in motion and paid for with the blood of the Lamb. Your blood. Your apostle, Paul, wrote that we are to be pitied above all people if what we believe about You in faith and hope is not true. And yet it is true, and we do believe it in faith. Although it is something not always seen, it is inferred, and when it is seen, it amazes us. So let us gird ourselves and be strengthened in our hope today. We are not frail humanity, beset by fears and the challenges of this present age, we are followers of the Most High God, beloved children, called and sanctified by the very power that created us and everything else we can see, know, touch or understand. And You walk with us, beside us and within us, for Your glory and name's sake, amen.

Let this preparation day be one of inner preparation as well as outward preparation, Lord God of Israel. In order that we best meet with You and honour You on Your Sabbath day. Help us reflect and dwell on the things that hinder our relationship with You, and have done with them. Help us meet with You on the heavenly plains before Your throne, that we may rest in You and learn from You; that we may glorify You and shout Your praises and speak Your name. For Your name is hope and peace and truth for the nations, You are sovereign over all of the earth. Grant us discernment and cause us to be brave, for Your name's sake. The name in which we pray, Jesus, called Yeshua, the Messiah, amen.

Leviticus 7 v3:11

​We rarely consider the sin of trespass in this current age and yet in Your model of prayer and statutes of sacrifice, trespass is a feature. Committing offence against another person or set of rules is the significance of the sin that You see in our hearts and minds. It is exactly this that You have forgiven in us by the shedding of Your own blood upon the Cross, it is exactly this that we are called to forgive in others who bring this same offence to our own persons. Today, Lord, help us in the understanding and application of this part of Your calling. Help us surrender the very fat part of it, the choice pieces, that we may know and understand Your will more, that we may walk in alignment with You more, and that we may bring the Kingdom by applying Your attitude to us as our attitude to those around us. May grace abound more in us and through us, in Jesus's name we pray, amen.

Forever Grateful

Thank You Lord

Thank You, Lord, for You have delivered us from the Enemy. As we cling to You we maintain our inheritance from Your victory. Yet he is devious, even set aside for destruction and still apt for testing and devouring those that stray or are in need of testing or correction. In the name of Your Son, Jesus, who is the Messiah, we must learn to stand against him. Not to fight, though our defences must be sure, but to stand and stand firm. You will fight for us. This is not some fairy creature, overcome with a stick or fine words, but a formidable power, once created and upheld by You. We are but flesh and blood before him, and it is only by Your Spirit that we can stand. Help us take comfort then in Your words, that "greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world," and put on the whole armour of God. May the name of Jesus ever be on our lips. And may the light of Your Holy Spirit shine from us to such an extent that every encounter he has with us is grievous and painful to him. We know that You will shake all things, Lord God of Israel, and that we are not exempt from the testing if we desire to be refined in the fire, yet strengthen us, Lord, we pray, and shape us into arrows that strike directly at his heart, in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, amen!
